IOTAIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Zelda Fontenot Plante announces her passing on Tuesday, March 05, 2013 at Abbeville General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was 49. We will Celebrate her life at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 07, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Iota. Burial will follow in the Iota Cemetery with Pastor Jim Cart officiating.

Zelda was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend she will be sadly missed by her husband, Michael Plante of Abbeville her loving son, Carlton Bubba Fontenot and wife, Wendy of Iota her daughter, Kina Fontenot and husband, Shannon of Iota three brothers, Howard Fontenot of Bridgecity, TX, John Fontenot of Hathaway, Blake Fontenot of Bainbridge, GA three sisters, Penny Fontenot of Jennings, Donna Emig of Hoxie, Kansas and Glory Marshall of Hattiesburg, MS. She was a wonderful grandmother to seven grandchildren.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Felix and Sadie Arabie Fontenot grandparents, Isaac and Thelma Arabie and Nelson and Rose Fontenot and her first husband, Carlton Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Iota on Wednesday, March 6th from 11:00 am until time of services on Thursday, March 7th.
