EUNICEIt is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, brother, and friend, Youree Tyson, on August 19, 2011 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. He was 86. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating.
Youree proudly served with the United States Army in World War II. He served nineteen months overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines with 41st Infantry Division as a light machine gunner. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, AsiaticPacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars with one Bronze Arrowhead and a World War II Victory Medal. He retired as Oilfield Equipment Salesman. Over the years he was a member of the Woodman of the World as well as an inventor and invented fishing lures and key chains. A proud, caring man, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Lois Aguillard Tyson his two brothers, Murphy Tyson of Lake Charles and Harry S. Tyson of Sulphur Spring, TX his two sisters, Bonnie Tyson Protho of Boone, North Carolina and Mary Lois Tyson Humble of Minden as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edward and Lela McBride Tyson his three brothers, Arnold , George, and James Willard Tyson and his two sisters, Jewel Tyson Long and Lena B. Tyson Curry.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, August 20th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Sunday, August 21st from 8:00 am until time of services.
