BASILE-Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 03, 2007 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Basile for Wilbert Vidrine, 73, who passed away on Monday, October 01, 2007 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile with Father Bill Regalla Celebrant.

Mr. Vidrine was a native of Basile and a resident of Kinder and also a retired Engineer in the Merchant Mariner having served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his companion, Nora Menier of Kinder;three step-sons, Cliff Fulton of Vidrine, Chris McGrath of Memphis Tenn. Jeff Vidrine of Basile; four step-daughters, Sheila Tarantino of New Haven, Connecticut, Lisa Brokaw of Ventura, California, Lessie Celestine of Elton, Julie Willis of Kinder; a brother, John Vidrine of Basile; eleven step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Ulysse and Wedna Sonnier Vidrine, precede him in death.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on October 02, 2007 at 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 03, 2007 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
