BASILEA loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Virginia Gayle Griffiths McClelland will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia went to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:50am at the Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Eunice surrounded by her loved ones. She was 92. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, October 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Reverend Dwayne Smith, Reverend Joe Kite, and Reverend Oren Connor officiating.

Virginia lived the life of a farmers wife and her children, grandchildren and family brought her the most joy in life. She was also very faithful in her service to God. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Lowell Cecil McClelland of Eunice son, Thomas Howard McClelland, SR. and wife, Valerie of Eunice two daughters, Katherine Gayle McClelland Starns and husband, Dale of St. Francisville, and Ivah Frances McClelland Sarradet and husband, Tommy of Baton Rouge seven grandchildren, Laura Seabaugh, Lowell McDonald, Stephanie Arceneaux, Emily Sullins, Ginger Connor, Leighe Faz, and Thomas McClelland, II twenty one great grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Thomas L. Griffiths and Ivah LaFargue Griffiths brother, Murray Griffiths son, William A. McClelland, III grandson, Jason Kent McDonald and granddaughter, Leslie Starns Weaver.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services at 10:30 am.

The family would like to express great appreciation to the staff of Oaklane Wellness and Rehabilitation Center for the love, care, and thoughtfulness given to their mother during her stay, and also to the nurses and aides of Heart of Hospice.
