EUNICE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Virgie B. Richard announces her passing on Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family. She was 84. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 am at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon David Guillory officiating

Virgie was a homemaker and devoted herself to the love and care of her family. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends but most of all she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren. She is survived by her five sons, Floyd Menard and wife, Sherry, Ronald Menard, Harold Menard and wife, Belinda, Anthony Menard, and James Richard, all of Eunice two daughters, Mona Chandler and husband, Sonnie of DeQuincy and Diana Matt and husband, Darrell of Eunice two sisters, Betty Fontenot of Basile and Anna Lee Thibodeaux of Eunice. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren, and extended family and friends. Virgie will forever be loved and missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. B. Richard parents, Elias and Mamie LaCombe Blanchard son, Jean Richard and brothers, Rodney and Leroy Blanchard.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, December 22nd from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, December 23rd from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Monday evening.
