EUNICEA wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Virgene Boone will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Virgene died peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2012 surrounded by her loved ones. She was 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Rite of Committal will follow in the Savoy Cemetery with Father Nathan Comeaux Celebrant.
Virgene was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life especially having Christmas parties with her daughters, daughterinlaws and granddaughters. She also enjoyed listen to French music, gardening, working in her flowerbeds and raising chickens as well as babysitting children. Virgene was also known for her famous homemade bread. She will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts she touched including her three sons, Martin Boone and wife, Tee , Willie Boone, Jr., and wife, Alisha and Corey William Boone and wife, Daphne all of Eunice her six daughters, Mae Tietz and husband, Richard of Carencro, Barbara Thibodeaux and husband, John, Cheryl Durbin and husband, Craig and Deborah Boone all of Eunice, Patricia Boone and husband, John of Iowa and Rebecca Johnson and husband, Tony of Elton. She was blessed with twentysix grandchildren and further blessed with forty seven great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. Also mourning her loss is her brother, Isom Fontenot and wife, Eva of Eunice and two sisters, Emma Joyce Reed of Eunice and Rita Nash of Westlake.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Willie Boone, Sr daughters, Cecile Fontenot and Enola Boone a son William Boone and her parents, Clements and Mathilda Soileau Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, February 14th from noon until time of services on Wednesday, February 15th. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
