EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Victor Leon Vice announces his passing on the morning of Monday, December 01, 2014 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 04, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Brother Chris Holloway and Brother Bobby Hoddnett officiating.
A proud veteran, Victor served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was retired from the Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline after working 30 years as a district supervisor as well as a Deacon at Little Pass Baptist Church of Charenton for many years. He loved to play the fiddle, leather work, and was a master carpenter. But most of all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be miss dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of 67 years, Georgie A. Vice of Eunice his son, Steve Vice and wife, Gwen of Baldwin and his daughter, Vickie Manuel and husband, Alvin of Eunice. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Scott Manuel, Kerri Comeaux, Michael Vice, Nikki Manuel Daigle and Debra Theunissen and further blessed with twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Iris Murray of Garden City, Kansas as well as extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Opal Haggard Vice.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, December 3rd from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. On Thursday, December 4th from 8:00 am until time of services.
