BASILEWith much sorrow, the family announces the passing of Verna Mae Pousson who peacefully slipped away in her 88th year with family by her side at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice on Saturday, November 03, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 05, 2012 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the Liberty Cemetery with Father David Hebert Celebrant.
Verna was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She loved to cook and pray the Rosary as well as being a member of the St. Augustine Ladies Altar Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her two sons, James Pousson and wife, Barbara of Lake Charles and Raymond Pousson and wife, LaDonna of Iowa. She was blessed with seventeen grandchildren and further blessed with twenty five great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her husband, Allen Pousson, Sr her children, Darrel Pousson, Sadie LeJeune, Allen Pousson, Jr and Johnny Pousson grandchildren, Donald Paul LeJeune, Mia Primeaux and Dane Pousson.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, November 4th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, November 5th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
The family would like to send a special thanks to all family members and to Jennifer Price her caregiver. Vernas family also expresses their appreciation to everyone for the many calls and prayers sent their way.
