BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Tomas A. Lopez announces his passing on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. He was 9 years old and a fourth grade student at W.W. Stewart Elementary School in Basile. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, March 8, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father Brian Taylor officiating.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his parents, Tomas and Alma Torres Lopez of Basile three brothers, Octavio M. Torres, Sergio E. Lopez, and Pablo N. Lopez, all of Basile sister, Thalia N. Stewart and husband, Frederick of Oberlin maternal grandmother, Rosario Rovles of Sinoloa, Mexico Godmother, Martha Hoffpauir of Eunice Godfather, Kevin Orobeux of Dallas, TX and many loving friends. Tomas will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Now he rests in Heaven with his paternal grandmother, Juana V. Lopez and maternal grandfather, Alfredo Torres.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 10:00 am until time of services.
