EUNICEA wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Thomas Dexter will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Thomas passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his resident at the age of 83. Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Eunice at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating.

Thomas known as Tom to all who knew him was a Veteran of the United States Navy in World War II. He had 35 years of service at Trans Co. Gas Company and was raised in the Corsicana State Home in Corsicana, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eunice. The things that brought Tom the most joy to his life was spending time with his family and friends.

Tom leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Smith Dexter of Eunice; his son, Kenneth Ken Dexter of Sugar Land, TX; his daughter, Linda Sonnier and her husband, Willard of Greenwell Springs; his four beloved grandchildren, Angie Sasser and her husband, Jon, Michael Sonnier and his wife, Monica, Tammie LeJeune and her husband, Kirk and Kevin Sonnier and his eight cherished great grandchildren as well as his loving sisters, Margaret and Nelly and their family.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Thomas and Alice Maddox Dexter, Sr; his son, Keith Dexter and his sister, Billie Courville.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services.
