Eunice~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Thelma Clavier Lavergne, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 88. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice at 11:00 am on Friday, March 25, 2016. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Darren Eldridge officiating.

Thelma was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family, doing yard work and traveling. Thelma's memory will live on in all who loved her, especially her eight children, Brenda Mistrot and husband, Pierre of Three Mile Lake, Charlotte Chapman and husband, Terry of Swords, Terrel "Murph" Lavergne and wife, Keri of Wellington, FL, Wayne Lavergne and wife, Johnette and Dale Lavergne and wife, Geraldine all of Eunice, Donvan Lavergne of Lafayette, Kent Lavergne and wife, Brenda of Swords and Ricky Lavergne and wife, Mary of Eunice. She also leaves two brothers, Kermit and Dewey Clavier, both of Savoy. Thelma was a wonderful and loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also mourned by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, William Lavergne; parents, Felix and Theophine Richard Clavier; three sisters, Genevieve Atzenhoffer, Freida Miller, Anna Mae Clavier; and three brothers, Leo and Berlin Clavier, and Felix Clavier, Jr.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, March 24th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, and again on Friday, March 25th from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 7:30 pm Thursday evening.
