T. Carey Brinkman, Jr.

December 13, 1943 — October 25, 2024

 EUNICE- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of T. Carey Brinkman, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left this world Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 80, with loving family by his side. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice, with burial to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, officiated by his first cousin, Rev. Zack Young.

Carey was born in Eunice on December 13, 1943, to the late T. Carey Brinkman, Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Young Brinkman. Carey worked on his father’s family farm through his teenage years. In his 20’s, he became a machinist and moved to Baton Rouge. Carey machined parts and other unique projects while working for Precision Industries including created parts for NASA’s Voyager 1 that is still collecting data in space. On August 3, 1968, he married Mike Elaine Mangham and they made their home in Denham Springs. Several years later their son was born. In 1976, they moved back to Eunice to take over the family farm and welcomed their daughter two years later. Throughout his life, Carey enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and tinkering with anything and everything that needed to be fixed. 

Carey is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-six years, Mike Elaine Mangham Brinkman of Eunice; his son, Mickey Brinkman and wife, Christie of Prairieville; his daughter, Shelly Brinkman Sittig and husband, Jody of Eunice; and his three grandchildren, Aubree Brinkman, Cade Sittig and Lauren Sittig; as well as extended family and friends.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carey Brinkman, Sr.

The family expresses sincere thanks to the personnel of Dr. Randy Miller, Dr. Zeb Stern, Eunice Community Home Health, Eunice Manor and HOPE Healthcare and Hospice.

In honor of Carey’s life, a visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
