EUNICE~Our hearts are heavy as we have lost a very special daughter, sister, aunt, big nan and friend, Suzanne Fontenot at the age of 49. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Randall Moreau Celebrant.

Suzanne was a teacher at Abbeville High School where she was the head of the Special Ed Department, was a chairperson of the SBLC committee, she ran Station 2 at the Area Special Olympics track meet for over 20 years. She was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville where she served as a Eucharist Minister and a Lector. She enjoyed life and her happiest times were spent creating memories with family and friends especially with her mother, Sandra R. Fontenot of Eunice; her two sisters, Dana Hollier and husband, Lloyd of Eunice and Arlene Guidry and husband, Terry of Carencro; her nieces and nephews, Steven Hollier and wife, Haley, Shelly Hollier, godchild, Keri Hollier, godchildren, Terie Nichole Patin and husband, Korrey, Geoffrey Guidry and wife, Annie, Kalyn Benoit and husband, Daniel, Zachary Guidry and wife, Krystal and McKenzie Guidry; and was a big nan to nine great nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends. She lives on in all her family, friends, and anyone who had the grace to be touched by her. "The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained."

She is preceded in death by her father, Houston Fontenot and brother, Darby Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, December 9th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 10th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening.
