EUNICE~ It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Susan Bergeron on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge at the age of 64. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Sam Fontana, Celebrant.
Susan was born in Eunice, Louisiana on June 24, 1959. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where she volunteered and was a member of the St. Martha’s Guild. She had a deep love for her faith and actively participated in church activities. Susan’s greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren play sports and she wholeheartedly supported them in their endeavors. Her loving presence and encouragement meant the world to them. For many years, Susan worked alongside her beloved sisters and family at the Flower House, owned by their family in Eunice.
Family was everything to Susan, and she loved unconditionally. She will be deeply missed by her husband of forty-eight years, John Bergeron of Eunice; her mother, Ethel Meche of Eunice; her son, Adam Bergeron of Crowley; her daughter, Brandy Viallon and husband, Kip of Paincourtville; three brothers, Tommy Himel and wife, Suzanne, Raymond “Junior” Himel and wife, Pat, and Billy Manuel and wife, Kim; five sisters, Gale Castille, Cora Cole, Laura Thibodeaux and husband, Mike, Sandra Reed, and Jeanette Fontenot and husband, Joe. Susan was blessed with six grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy into her life: Louie, Sydney, and Johnny Viallon, and Ethan, Christian, and Logan Bergeron.
Susan is preceded in death by her sisters, Christina Manuel and Sharan B. Bellard; and stepfather, Malta "Pop" Manuel.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, February 5th from 12:00pm until 10:00 pm.
