EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts the family of Shirley Touchet Cormier announces her passing on Saturday, February 09, 2019 at the age of 82. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Brother Joshua Johnson officiating.

At the request of the family visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 10:00 AM until time of services.

Shirley was a member of the church choir at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Eunice. She taught Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School, and was a member of a ladies prayer group until she moved away. In the past, she enjoyed sewing, singing in the choir, and being active in her church. Shirley is survived by her son, David Fincher, Sr. and wife, Janet of Gibson; daughter, Jennifer F. Soyez and husband, Ken of Destrehan; sister, Leola Comeaux of Eunice; three grandchildren, Jessica Ortego and husband, Barrett, Crystal Fincher and fiancé, Kevin Thibodeaux, and Steven Wofford and wife, Andrea; and four great grandchildren, Payne and Alayna Bourgeois, and Peyton and Reagan Ortego.

She is preceded in death by her son, Rickey Fincher; parents, Joseph Touchet and Elvina Miller Comeaux; brother, Burley Touchet; sister, Enola Comeaux Reviere; and grandson, David Fincher, Jr.

Pallbearers carrying her to her place of rest are David Fincher, Sr., Steven Wofford, Payne Bourgeois, Barrett Ortego, Kevin Thibodeaux, and Chris Soyez.
