BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, companion and friend, Sherry Young on August 22, 2010 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice after a battle with cancer. She was 57. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Sherry was a very kind and loving woman and spending time creating memories with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her companion, Craig Dupre of Eunice her four sons, Christopher Shane Darbonne and wife, Michelle of Fort Riley, Kansas, Scotty Darbonne and wife, Kelly of Moss Bluff, Jason Fruge of Basile and Jessie Paul Fruge of Lafayette her brother, Jimmy Young and wife, Dianne of Basile and her sister, Carolyn Bertrand of Basile. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Tyler, Katelyn and Casey Darbonne, Ava Darbonne, Caleb, Camron, and Kylie Fruge and Caden Comeaux and the beloved aunt to two nephews David Holman and Jeremy Fruge. She was a special person and we will all miss her greatly.

Sherry now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Alvin and Euta Bertrand Young and a nephew, William Billy Young.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, August 24th from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, August 25th from 5:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening.
