BASILEIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Shelton Lee Romero announces his passing on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father David Hebert and Father Marshall Boulet officiating.

Shelton proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Cleco and retired after working 30 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his son, Brennus Romero and wife, Brenda of Elton two daughters, Renetta Kibodeaux and husband, Jimmy of Elton and Donna LaFleur and husband, Mike of Basile. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Amber, Jacob, Brenda, Kyle, Will, and Kim and further blessed with four great grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Carah, and Emma.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Isabelle M. Romero and his parents, Vital and Alida LeJeune Romero.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, April 23rd from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, April 24th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
