BASILEIt is with great sadness that the family of Shelton Darbonne announces his passing on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Basile Care Center at the age of 92. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father Darren Eldridge Celebrant.

Shelton served his country honorable in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired salesman but most of all he was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him especially his son, Horace Darbonne and wife, Cindy of Basile three grandchildren, Chantal Duplechain Brown, Jacques Darbonne and Katie Darbonne Maggio and husband, Beau two great grandchildren, Tyler Brown and Baylor Maggio and one great great granddaughter, Izabella Henry.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Estera Fontenot Darbonne daughter, Jeannette Gotreaux and his parents, Numa and Helena Guillory Darbonne.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Saturday, December 29th from 7:30 am until time of services. Deacon Robby Leger will recite a Rosary at 10:00 am Saturday morning.
