EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shelton P. Boone announces his passing on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Oaklane Wellness and Rehab Center at the age of 90. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.
Shelton was a United States Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the 40 & 8. He was also a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a Leader and District Commander in Boy Scouts. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, Norman Boone and wife, Susan of Baton Rouge; sister, Irene Reed of Eunice; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Boone; son, Sherwin Boone; parents, Walter and Pauline Richard Boone; brother, Herbert Boone; and sisters, Ina Boone, Mable Bertrand, and Belle Marcantel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, December 19th from 11:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 1:00 pm
