Sharon Collins

IOTA-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon Collins announces her passing on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at her home at the age of 68. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota with Father Jude Thierry, Celebrant.

Sharon was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who devoted herself to the care of her family. She was also hot-shot delivery driver for many years. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her children, Garrett Bonin, Jarredd Collins, both of Iota, and Danelle Mustin VanderWaal of Colorado; her siblings, Paula Jarell and husband, Brad of Robert, LA, Theresa Champagne and husband, Paul of Virginia, Marie Scarabin of Mississippi, Michelle Collins of Buras, LA, Michael Collins of Roanoke, VA, and Lori Franovich and husband, Bruce of Mississippi; grandchildren, Michael Bonin, Haden Romero, Troy Fontenot, Jarredd Collins II, Justus VanderWaal, and Isabella VanderWaal; great grandchildren, Jaxon Romero, Liam Romero, and Kylie Fontenot; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Barretta Bonin; parents, George Bernard and Rita Mae Martin Collins; niece, Melissa Collins; and brother-in-law, Kenny Scarabin.

Pallbearers include her two sons, Garrett Bonin, Jarredd Collins. And grandchildren, Troy Fontenot, Hayden Romero, Michael Bonin, and Jarredd Collins II.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota on Friday, July 29th from 11:00 am until time of services.
