EUNICEWith much sorrow our beloved father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, Russel E. Pangle passed away on the morning of Wednesday, June 05, 2013 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital at the age of 87. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, June 07, 2013, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero and Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

A proud veteran, Russel served in the United States Army Air Corps where he received the American Defense Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and a good conduct medal. He work for Halliburton for over 35 years in Louisiana and overseas as well as a police officer in Waynesboro, VA. He was a volunteer firefighter in Patterson and Bayou Vista and a lector in the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista. Russel was a past member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He coached peewee football in Patterson and he had a love for writing. Most of all, Russel adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially his children, his son, Dwain E. Pangel and wife, Terry of Bayou LOurse his two daughters, Sharon Pangle Baker and her daughter, Regina of Lafayette and Janelle F. LeBlanc of Tyler, TX his brother, James Pangle and wife, Lucille of Danbury, CN his two sisters, Vivian Peyton of Waynesboro, VA. and Frances Hughes of Stuarts Draft, VA. He was blessed with four grandchildren and further blessed with five great grandchildren.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Jeanette Elizabeth OBrien Pangle his parents, Guy and Susie Bailey Pangle his brothers, Carl and Ray Pangle and his sister, Virginia Coffey.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, June 6th from noon until 5:00 pm and again on Friday, June 7th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 4:00 pm Thursday afternoon.
