EUNICE-Ruby Nell Gaspard Guillory, born on Saturday, October 12, 1929, bid farewell to the world on Thursday, April 25, 2024, leaving behind a 94-year legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Hampton Davis, Celebrant.
Ruby was known for her exceptional culinary skills, delighting both her family and the community with her delicious creations. Among her favorite pastimes were fishing and camping. Ruby also took great pride in her Cajun heritage, finding joy in the vibrant Cajun music and lively French dancing. Later in life, she embraced her religion and prayed her rosary faithfully.
Family and friends will fondly remember Ruby for her nurturing presence, comforting hugs, and unwavering support. In her hometown of Eunice, Louisiana, where she passed away, and in Basile, Louisiana where she was born, Ruby's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind three sons, David William Guillory and wife, Belinda of Eunice, Danny Mitchell Guillory of Melville, and Randall Drake Guillory of Eunice; daughter, Phyllis G. Campbell and husband, Jimmy of Ville Platte; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Campbell, Scott Campbell, Janna Campbell, Holly Fedele, Heather Langley, Andrew Guillory, Jesse Guillory, Jessica G. Brown, Tabatha Hudspeth, Gabrielle Fontenot, and Jonah Guillory; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her brother, Michael Gaspard and wife, Eileen of Pensacola, FL and sisters, Barbara Fuselier of Columbus, GA and Janelle Manuel and husband, Harold of Moss Bluff.
May we find comfort in knowing that Ruby Nell Gaspard Guillory’s spirit now rests peacefully. Ruby now rests with her husband, Harry Lee Guillory; parents, Maney and Rose Vidrine Gaspard; sons, Robert Lee Guillory and Harry Lee Guillory, Jr.; brothers, George, J.M., Dee Dee, Russell and Roy Gaspard; sisters, Dolly Watts, Margie Kellner, and Martha Duhon; and grandson, Chad J. Guillory.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Ruby's life will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, May 1 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. David Guillory will pray a Rosary at 6:00 PM on Tuesday.
