EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Roylis Naquin, Sr. announces his passing on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Ozark Community Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:30 on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Savoy Cemetery in Perchville with Father Nathan Comeaux Celebrant.
Roylis proudly served his country in the United States Army. A native of Eunice and a resident of Springfield, Missouri, he was a Captain on a tug boat as well as a Security Guard. He loved to shrimp and hunt but most of all he loved his family. Roylis was a loving father to three children, two sons, Michael Wayne Naquin and wife, Lisa of Chillicothe, Ohio and Roylis Naquin, Jr and wife, Christy of Port Barre a daughter, Catherine Cathy Naquin and fianc, Randy Roach of Springfield, Missouri a loving brother to Elverlis Ole Nanny Guillory of Pine Prairie. He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to seventeen grandchildren, Rachael, Stacy, T.Todd, Caressa, Regan, Julain, Chelsie, Nadeana, Chantz, Buffy, Douglas, Jody, Summers, Noah, Abbie, Elizabeth and Mikie and twenty six great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are three nephews, Keefen, James and Tim LaCombe and a niece, Belinda Ortego.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Lillie Mae Savoy Naquin his parents, Dalbes and Battile Ardoin Naquin great grandson, Hunter John Israel a sister, Cherry LaCombe two nephews, Gerald Deville and Johnny Fontenot.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, January 28th from 12 noon until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, January 29th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Monday evening.
