Rowena Mitchell Marcantel

EUNICE~ It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rowena Mitchell Marcantel announces her passing on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 81. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery in Chicot with Rev. Leslie Frietch.

 Rowena was born on April 14, 1943, in Ville Platte, La to the late Ernest and Leola McGee Mitchell. She was one-of-a-kind and enjoyed working in her yard in her younger years. She was also a wonderful cook, and her loved ones enjoyed gathering to share a meal made by her. 

 Rowena will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her children, Ernest Paul Marcantel and wife, Emeline of Dickson, TN, Sherman Paul Marcantel and wife, Kelly of Morgan City, Shane Lee Marcantel and wife, Dawn of Berwick, and Daisy Iaon Marcantel of Eunice; ten grandchildren, Kayla, Ethan, Tiffiny, Dallas, Cameron, Carson, Shaina, Hannah, Brennan, and Kelin; ten great grandchildren, Rylee, Hayden, Tinley, Remmi, Dawson, Turner, Levi, Asher, Saylor and Blakely; as well as extended family and friends.

 She is preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Paul Marcantel; her parents; and siblings, Ernest Lee McGee, Travis Edward Mitchell, Irah Claibourne Mitchell, Anne Everly Mitchell Pitre, and Uline Virginia Mitchell Thomason.

 At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10:00 am until time of services.
