EUNICE- Rosie Eloise Perrodin born in Decatur, MS on December 15, 1929 to parents Clayton and Mary Wellborn Rowell passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Sherwood Manor Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge at the age of 79. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Pastor Ernie Toepfer officiating.
Rosie was a Basile resident for thirty plus years and a resident of Baton Rouge for the last seven years. She was a long time educator for the St. Landry School Board in Opelousas. She first taught in elementary school for many years and then ended her career as a Supervisor of Reading for the parish. She shared her own love of reading with her students. She loved children and especially loved teaching them to read. She was a delightful person and a joy to be with. Rosie will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be truly missed.
Rosie leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her son, Ronald E. Elkin of Norman, OK; her four grandchildren, Sean E., Jason, Ashley, and Brandon Elkin. Also mourning her loss is her late husband, Bryans children and grandchildren, Stephanie Elfert and her husband, Dr. Daniel Elfert, Jr of Crowley and their children, Jody Elfert and his wife, Jennifer, Justin Elfert and his wife, Jeanne, Samantha, and Sarah Elfert; Susan Hoychick and her husband, Terry of Eunice and their children, Lindsay Hoychick Fontenot and her husband, Kyle, Jeslyn H. Brown and her husband, Seth, and Kaitlin Hoychick; Keenan B. Perrodin and his wife, Bonnie of Bridge City, TX and their children, Colby and Haleigh Perrodin; Scott Perrodin and his wife, Linda of Eunice and their children, Ethan and Laney Perrodin and Tyrone Lee son of the late Judith Perrodin.
Now she rests in heaven with her loving husband, Bryan Perrodin; her parents and her two sisters.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 12 noon until time of services.
