IotaIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of a dear mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Rose L. Miller on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.

Rose was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a kind and loving woman and spending time with her family brought a great deal of joy to her life. Rose was a loving mother to her four sons, Charles Miller and wife, Monica of Iota, Michael Miller and wife, Zena of Rayne, Ernest Miller and Marcus Miller, both of Iota two daughters, Mary Ann Janise and husband, Michael of Jennings, and Marietta Taylor and husband, David of Iota three sisters, Ethel Leger of Crowley, Ruth Pousson and Marjorie LaCombe, both of Orange, TX and daughter inlaw, Amy Miller of Iota. She was a dear and loving grandmother to her fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Rose will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Rufus Miller, Sr. son, Rufus Miller, Jr. parents, Raymond and Clelie LaCombe and infant brother, Elmer LaCombe.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, April 13th from 11:00 am until time of services on Thursday, April 14th. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.
