BASILEIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Ronald Ronnie Denette announces his passing on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was 67. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Pastor Woody Gunnels officiating.
A proud veteran, Ronnie served his country honorable in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lyondell Chemical Company after 30 years. Ronnie was very involved with the community, Basile Little League, started up the Little Dribblers Program, City Councilman for numerous years and was also Alderman at Large as well as a Hunter Safety Instructor . Ronnie loved being outdoors and in the woods, he was a avid deer hunter, loved to cook and spend time at the camp with friends and loved his dog Mollie. He loved helping others and to mention he never met a stranger. But most of all he was an incredible husband, a wonderful father, brother, grandfather and friend and a deeply good man.
He will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched especially his loving wife of 45 years, Jessica Granger Denette of Basile his three sons, Mark Denette and wife, DeEtte, Blake Denette and wife, Jessica all of Basile and Jeremy Jukie Denette of Monroe three daughters, Heather Denette Wallace and husband, Terry, Tara Denette, and Stephanie Denette Brown and husband, Nathan Pole all of Basile two brothers, Marty Denette and wife, Sue of Ludlow, MA and Dennis Denette of Holyoke, MA a sister, Connie Denette Bugbee and husband, Gene of MA. He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to fourteen grandchildren, Abby, Chelsie, Kinslie, Harlie, Alaina, Olivia, Alyssa, Amelia, Landon, KeriLeigh, Kennadie, Kannon, Zaylie and Kiyah.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Albert and Virginia Weatherby Denette and a sister, Lynn Dee Denette Kibbe.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, February 17th from 11:00 am until time of services on Monday, February 18th.
