EUNICEIts with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Sonny Spears announces his passing on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital with loving family by his side. He was 79. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Durio Cemetery with Pastor Orville Rogers officiating.

Robert, better known as Sonny was a retired farmer and cattleman and he loved to garden. But most of all he was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and spending time with them was a great deal of joy. Sadly missed but joyfully remembered by his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Dolorous Sis Spears and two sons, Brent Spears and wife, Cindy and Todd Spears and wife, Francine all of Reddell his brother, Donny Spears of Ville Platte his sister, Joy Duplechian of Lake Charles. The joys of his life his nine grandchildren, Kyle Spears, Dustin Spears, Krista LeBouef, Julie Fontenot, Jonathon Spears, Shem Spears, Nathanael Spears, Morgan Reed and Sloan Clark eighteen great grandchildren, Katelyn, Ky, Kera, Karmyn Spears, Abe, Dalin, Paizlyn and Kayson Spears, Kaden, Tannon and Josie Lebouef, Jenna and Layna Fontenot, Karli and Baylee Clark and Japheth Spears, Conner and Matthew Reed. one great great grandchild, Linda Shyanne Douget.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Julia McCoy Spears two sisters, Betty Aguillard and Gussie Ann Boyett.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, October 21st from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services.
