EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rita Courville Delafosse announces her passing on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.

Rita was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She was a great cook and enjoyed playing bingo, loved her kindle and the council of aging. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She was a loving mother to two children, Joyce Courville Quinealty and husband, Tom of Cleveland, TN and Dale Courville and wife, Dolly of Walker; a loving sister-in-law to Marie Courville of Opelousas; and a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Mitsi Q. Poole, Tom Stacey Quinealty, Sunny Q. Thibodeaux, Lori and Kent Courville; eight great grandchildren, Jake, Josh and Joeli Poole, Savannah and Kate Higgins, Trace Quinealty, Raine and Eli Courville; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Delafosse; parents, Ernest and Lucille Miller Courville; the father of her children, Allen Courville; brothers, Mayous, Wallace and Walter Courville; sisters, Bernice Street, Nola Aguillard, Marice Fontenot and Rena Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, March 19th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Tuesday, March 20th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Monday.
