Rickey James Deaville

EUNICE~It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rickey James Deaville on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Lafayette General Medical Center at the age of 61. A Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm with Tammi Thibodeaux leading us in honoring Rickey's memory.

      Rickey was born in Eunice to Horace Deaville and Irma Jean Fontenot. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also loved to make sausage and smoke meat. His favorite pastime was relaxing in his outdoor kitchen. Rickey will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his children, John “Robbie” Watson, Jr. and wife, Tammy of New Iberia, Tammi Rae Thibodeaux and husband, Donnie of Eunice, Ashley Nicole Simon and husband, Roland of Eunice, and Sondra Deaville and fiancé, Paul Karlson-Perhonis of Cecelia; his siblings, Keith Deaville and wife, Carlene, Donald Deaville and wife, Susan, and Brenda Deaville Fontenot, all of Eunice; four grandchildren, Cody Ray Bruton, Christopher Thibodeaux, Alanah Deaville, and Jacob Thibodeaux; seven great grandchildren, Tiana Bruton, Eli Hayes Thibodeaux, Benson Thibodeaux, Waylon Thibodeaux, Aria Brown, Ryver Paige Thibodeaux, and Lawson Thibodeaux; as well as extended family and friends.

        Rickey is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca “Wheezie” Deaville; his parents; siblings, Horace “Joe” Deaville, Jr., Susan Deaville Leger, and Peggy Deaville Comeaux; and his great granddaughter, Kyryn Zion Edwards.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 8:00 am until time of services.
