IOTAIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Richard Dickie Trahan announces his passing on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 74. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum with Father Michael Polson, Father Jude Thierry and Father David Broussard officiating.
Richard, better known as Dickie served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Most of all, Dickie adored his wife of 53 years, Antoinette Toni C. Trahan of Iota two sons, Vincent J. Trahan and wife, Connie Sue and Steve Trahan and wife, Diane all of Iota his daughter, Paula T. Brown and husband, Randy of Lake Mary, FL five brothers, Louis Trahan, Jr. of Lake Arthur, Wardell Trahan of Westlake, Melvin Trahan of Youngsville, Jerald Jerry Trahan of Gueydan and Murriel Trahan of Ville Platte three sisters, Alice Sailor of Atlanta, GA, Arlene Hill of Clinton, MS, and Gwen Olivier of Egan. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Trenten Trahan, Amanda T. Bryant, Aleigha Singer, Jeremiah Trahan, Brittany Hulsey, Celeste Brown, Amy Brown and Caleb Brown and further blessed with four great grandchildren, Addisyn Trahan, Hugh Bryant, Levi Singer and Stella Brown. He will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Louis and Alecia Conner Trahan his siblings, Eloise, Raymond, Florence, Henry and Harry.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, December 26th from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, December 27th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.
