EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice on Monday, February 23, 2009 for Richard C. Sattler, 75, who passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier, Celebrant.

Mr. Sattler was a resident of Mowata who loved playing Cajun music and going to the casino. He also enjoyed working at Smiths True Value Hardware in Eunice, helping customers. In the past, he was a self-employed business owner of Sattler Supply of Iota for over 25 years. Mr. Sattler will be remembered as one who enjoyed being with his family and his friends and will be missed by all.

He is survived by three sons, Ricky Sattler and wife, Janet of Egan, Todd Sattler and wife, Shelia, and Marion Sattler and wife, Lori, all of Eunice; three brothers, James Buddy Sattler of Eunice, Lubert Sattler of Kinder, and Donald Sattler of Eunice; two sisters, Sis Frey of Mowata and Totsie Babineaux of Eunice; seven grandchildren, Heidi Siebert and husband, Kyle, Alex Sattler, Whitney Sattler, Maggie Sattler, Erin Sattler, Chelsea Sattler and Trevor Sattler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita B. Sattler; parents, Curry and Lydia Richard Sattler; and two brothers, Phillip Sattler and Kelly Sattler.

The family request that visiting hours is observed on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, February 23, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
