Renee Bushnell

Renee “Grammie” Bushnell, a beloved member of her community, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Crowley, Louisiana. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota.  Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Pastor Gary DarDar, officiating. 

 Born on Monday, September 2, 1957, in Crowley, Louisiana to EJ and Joyce LeJeune, Renee's vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.  She will be fondly remembered for her selfless nature and “creative thinking.” She dedicated her time working in the cafeteria at Iota Elementary, where she brightened the days of students with her warm smile. Her commitment to putting others' needs above her own exemplified her loving and caring personality.
 
A hard worker by nature, Renee approached life with an adventurous spirit, always on the go and ready to embrace new experiences. Her interests were as varied as they were numerous - from music, dancing, attending livestock shows, fishing, traveling, gardening to watching sports, especially cheering on her favorite Iota Bulldogs.  Second only to her family were her love for everything Christmas and riding her lawn mower.
 
Renee's proudest accomplishments revolved around family; she found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Grammie” and creating lasting memories with them. Her love and dedication to her family knew no bounds and will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind.  Renee will be loving remembered by her mother, Joyce LeJeune; five children: Stacy Sharp (Sam), Kristi Rambin (Colby), Casey Bushnell ( Eric),Terry Bushnell II (Ashley), and Tyler Bushnell (Harley); and twelve grandchildren: Briggs Sharp, Bryce, Trae, Jadyn and Sage Rambin, Kameron, Karson, and Kanon Thibodeaux, Jaxson Bushnell, and Jace, Blaire, and Colton Bushnell.  Also left behind to cherish her memory are her brother, Shannon LeJeune; Godchild, Abbey Jones (Kyle); nephew, Dillon LeJeune; great-niece Weslie Jones; and her fur baby, Gus.

Renee is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Terry Paul Bushnell and her father, EJ LeJeune.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota  beginning at 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00PM.   Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM until time of service.

Renee Bushnell's legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members and friends who were fortunate enough to have known such an exceptional soul.
