EUNICEThe daughters of Raymond Courville are saddened to announce that their dear father has passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Northeast LA War Veterans Home in Monroe at the age of 89. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.

Raymond was born on October 09, 1921 to Octave Courville and Lillian Savoy Courville. He was born and raised in Chataignier. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He made his home in Eunice with his wife of 62 years, Marice Ashford Courville. He was employed for 30 years with Halliburton Services in Eunice as a driver and driving instructor.

Raymond leaves behind his two loving daughters, Gloria Courville Morgan of Monroe, and Amanda Courville Harrington of Lafayette. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Marice Morgan Guilbeau and husband, Glenn of Monroe, Raymond Morgan and wife, Betsy of Deridder, Katherine Morgan Wilson and husband, Jason of Monroe, James Monroe Harrington, III and Jillian Harrington both of Lafayette and further blessed with seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are his two brothersinlaw, Jessie Ashford of Eunice and Willis Ashford of Opelousas as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Marice Ashford Courville his father, Octave Courville his mother, Lillian Savoy Courville his brother, Edward Courville his two sonsinlaw, James M. Harrington, Jr. and Oliver Wayne Morgan.

The joys of Raymonds life were being with his family and he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. All were welcomed for a visit to his home or his camp, with a cup of coffee or a meal. He always had time to help his family and friends. Raymond would eagerly teach you what he knew whether it was how to drive, bait a fishing line or grill a great steak. His hard work and dedication was an incredible example for his family, Raymond was a loving husband and a great father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed but the memories he leaves us with will be forever cherished.

At the request of Raymonds family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, January 22nd from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Sunday, January 23rd from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Saturday evening.
