Raoul Guillory

September 21, 1942 — April 20, 2024

     It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Raoul Guillory on April 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of eighty-one.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Lake Cove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery with Pastor Cody King, officiating.

    Raoul, born on September 21, 1942, to Joseph and Eva Guillory. He was also known as “Paw,” “Roo” and “Uncle Tee’ he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and unforgettable friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor and unwavering love. He was a man of many talents, but his greatest joy came for sharing his passions with his family. He had a deep love for life and a contagious enthusiasm for the outdoors. Raoul poured his heart into everything he did, inspiring those around him to embrace life with the same passion. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

   Raoul leaves behind a legacy cherished by his four children; his best friend Lorraine Guillory of Turkey Creek; four children, Leah Faye (Payton) Slaughter of St. Landry, Angela Guillory (Carlos Bailey) of Basile, Joey (Latoya) Guillory of Lake Cove and Jackie (Chad) Callender, of Glenmora and a sister, Idele Carruthers of Prairie Rhonde. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, Leann (Mario) Cardenas, Tyler (Tonya) Bennett, Austin, Faith and Teresa Slaughter, Braden (Ashley) Guillory, Arley (Brittany) Guillory, Devin (Jennifer) Deville, Miranda (Blake) Howard, Courtney Guillory, Jody Guillory, Sarah Ortego, Cheyenne Aucoin, Amber (Donald) Walters, Haley Guillory, Taylor Estilette, Layla Guillory, Christian Callender, Heather (Matt) Cain, Justin Callender, Meagen Callender and Hunter (Rileigh) Callender; twenty seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren,  alongside extended family and dear friends.

    He is reunited in peace with his parents, Joseph and Eva Guillory; daughter, Miranda Jean Guillory; brothers, Harry and Frank Guillory and a sister, Estelle Babineaux.

   At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at Lake Cove Baptist Church, 1079 Lake Cove, Ville Platte from noon until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, April 24th from 9:00 am until time of services.

     The time of the disciple’s grief is fast approaching. In fact, they are already upset and disturbed over the things that Jesus has been telling they.
