With heavy hearts the family of Phillip Gobert announces his passing on Monday, February 05, 2024, at Senior Village Rehab and Retirement Center in Opelousas. He leaves behind a legacy, cherished memories, and a void that cannot be filled. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet with Father Stanley Jawa, SVD.
Phillip was born on January 19, 1962, in Lafayette where he was raised by his loving parents, Clarence and Mildred DuRousseau Gobert who preceded him in death. He was a carpenter who had a love for nature, hunting and fishing. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him, two children, Natalie Young of Atlanta, GA and Dustin Richard of Austin, TX; siblings, Genevieve Simien of Opelousas, Eddie Gobert and wife, Mary of Diamondhead, MS, Alonda Gobert and Paul Gobert both of Mallet; as well as extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James T. Gobert, Clarence “Blue” Gobert, Harold Gobert, Dennis “Pierre” Gobert, Carroll Gobert, Darrell Gobert, Laura Mae Gobert; niece, Angeleach Davis; nephews, Jonathan Gay and Dylan C. Young.
While our hearts are heavy, let us remember Phillip with profound gratitude for the joy he brought and the love he shared. May his spirit live on in our hearts, guiding us to live each day with purpose and passion. Rest in peace, dear Phillip. You will forever remain in our hearts.
