EUNICEIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Penny L. Fontenot announces her passing on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Lafayette General Hospital at the age of 53. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Durio Cemetery in Oberlin with Brother Orville Rodgers officiating.

Penny was an L.P.N. for 26 years. She loved to cook, take care of others and was a compassionate person. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her husband, Rowdy Fontenot of Basile her two sons, Dustin Fontenot and wife, Victoria of Midland, TX and Daris Fontenot of Oberlin and her mother, Clairlynn Smith of Oberlin. The joys of her life were her three grandchildren, Hayden, Connor and Savannah Fontenot a niece, Brittany Thibodeaux and husband, John of Mamou, many great nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Daris Smith and a brother, Dale Smith.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, July 29th from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, July 30th from 8:00 am until time of services.
