BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:30 am on Monday, February 16, 2009, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile for Pearl Fruge Weisse, 77. who passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Rite of Committal will follow in the St Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.
Pearl was a native and resident of Basile, La, where she was known by many as the cook for Chunkies Drive-Inn. She participated in many organizations such as the Ladies Alter Society, American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the Farmerettes. To also include making candy for many of the people in Basile.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Pearl is survived by her son, Lambert James Weisse and his wife, Susan of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Jennifer Langley of Westlake; four brothers, Floyd Fruge and his wife, Joyce of Rayne, Herman Fruge and his wife, Lucy of Corpus Christi, Shirley Fruge and his wife, Karen of Niceville, FL, Melvin Fruge and his wife, Nancy of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Stella Webb and her husband, Charles of Ballinger, TX and Juanita Mizell and her husband, Buster of Folsom; three grandchildren, Russell Bazinet and his wife, Micah, Lambert James Weisse II, and his fianc, Claire Kleinpeter and Tiffany Michelle Weisse; one great grand child, Cole Ray Bazinet; and one step great grand child, Caden Powers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Theresa Langley Fruge, Sr; her husband Nicholas Weisse, a sister, Zula Hester; and a brother, Lawrence Fruge, Jr.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, February 16, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
