BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile, for Mr. Paul Twozin, with burial following in the St. Augustine Mausoleum. Father Jules Speyrer officiating.
A lifelong resident of Basile, Paul Twozin, died on Easter Sunday, April 08, 2007, at the age of 82. Paul proudly served his country during WWII with the 104th Army in Germany. Following the war, he farmed in the Basile area and worked for Meyers contractors and Conoco until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Doga Twozin. Additional survivors are his four daughters and their spouses, Glenda Trahan, Trena Wendt and husband, Walter of Basile, Charlene White and husband, Ray of Hornbeck and Angie Reed and husband, Kenneth Reed of Mamou.
Paul was the proud Grandfather of Greg Manuel and wife, Marla of Eunice, Vicky Broussard and husband, Marty of Moss Bluff, Brent Manuel and wife, Kayla, Chad Manuel, Francine Butts and husband, Dempsey all of Basile, Christina Peterson and husband, Cannon of Yuma Arizona, Raye Anne Duplechain and husband, Mike of Magnolia Texas, Renee Roberie and husband, Lance of Lafayette, Robin White of Little Rock, Arkansas and Patricia and Heather Reed of Mamou.
The joys of his life were his great grandchildren, Paige, Larry Paul and John Michael Broussard, Alexis Manuel, Samuel and Houston Manuel, James Peterson, Hailey Manuel and Wyatt Duplechain.
Pallbearers are Pauls sons-in-law, Walter Wendt, Ray White and Kenneth Reed, his Grandsons, Greg Manuel, Brent and Chad Manuel. Honorary pallbearers, Dempsey Butts and Great Grandsons Larry Paul and John Michael Broussard.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dore and Annie Twozin; four sisters, Dorothy Twozin, Lenia Fournerat, Hazel Ardoin, Virgie Duplechain; one grandson, Neal Manuel; one great-grandson Daniel Broussard; three sons-in-laws, Larry and Francis Manuel, L.D. Trahan.
The family request that visitation hours be observed from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile and will continue from 8:00 am until time of services on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening.
