BASILEThe family announces with sorrow, the passing of Paul Meier at his residence on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the age of 61. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Paul a resident of Basile was a Marine Biologist for over 30 years. He loved to hunt and fish. He will be sadly missed by his best friend since childhood, John Glenn Fontenot of Eunice his two brothers, Carl Joseph Meier, II and wife, Adele of Lafayette, Mark Meier of Breaux Bridge his two sisters, Karen Louise Meier Ramirez of Covington, Mary Ann Meier de la Houssaye of League City, TX as well as his nieces and nephews, Rachel, Julie, Kim, Lynne, Scott, and Eric.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Carl and Mary Long Meier and his two brothersinlaw, Carlos H. Ramirez and A.J. de la Houssaye, II.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 11:30 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 pm.

The family requests that Memorial Donation be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, www.diabetes.org or call 1.800.diabetes or Charity of your choice.
