Patrick Ray Fontenot

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Patrick Ray "Big Pat" Fontenot announces his passing on Monday, May 27, 2024 in Eunice, Louisiana at the age of 70.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Church Mausoleum.

 Patrick Ray Fontenot was born on Sunday, April 25,1954 in Kinder, Louisiana to Floyd and Ella Mae Fontenot.  Patrick had a kind and friendly nature that resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He was a person who loved his morning coffee gatherings with his buddies at Ronnie's and his presence at these gatherings will be greatly missed.  Patrick will be remembered for his dedication to his work as a truck driver for the oilfield and for his passions for hunting and fishing.

 Patrick is survived by his loving family and friends who will cherish the memories they shared including his five loving children, Ryan Lejeune and wife, Sarah of Midland, Texas, Angelle Lejeune Seeley and husband, John of Ball Ground, Georgia, Kayla Fontenot of Tepetate, Kyle Fontenot of Tepetate, and Benjamin Fontenot and wife, Nancy of Eunice; and eighteen grandchildren.  Also left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Gale Fontenot and husband, Dale of Mamou and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Patrick is preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Rose Klumpp Fontenot; parents, Floyd and Ella Mae Fontenot; brother, Dale Fontenot; father and mother in law, Raymond and Mabel Stroderd Klumpp; and other extended family.

 A visitation will take place at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Friday, May 31, 2024 beginning at 8:00 am until time of service.  A rosary will be recited at 9:15 am and will be led by the Class of 1974.
