EUNICE~ It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of our precious mother, Patricia Leonards Johnson. Her memory will be treasured and her presence on this earth will be missed beyond measure. We know that heaven is rejoicing, and that Patricia will be watching over us as she waits for the day that we will share in her perfect joy of heaven, our eternal home.
Patricia, born in Eunice to August and Dora Frey Leonards. She was a woman of many talents and passions. Her love for travel and entertaining was only surpassed by her exceptional culinary skills. Patricia could effortlessly whip up a delicious meal that would leave everyone's taste buds yearning for more. However, amidst all her pursuits, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
She leaves behind an indelible legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Pat was a wonderful mother to Melinda J. Valenta, the late Colleen J. Ardoin and Michelle J. DeRouen and husband, Jeffery, all residing in Eunice. Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren - Dody Redmann, Amy Ortego and husband Dustin, Crystal Prejean and husband Eric, Adam Gustin and companion, Jade Pelican. Lance DeRouen and wife Brooke and Lindsey Tuqan and husband Hafiz.
She will also be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren - Hunter Brown, Hayes Ortego, Elly Ortego, Evie Ortego, William Redmann, Harvey Prejean, Henry Prejean, Braelyn Gustin, Bentley Gustin, Joshua Brown, Grace DeRouen, Giuliana DeRouen and Lyla Tuqan, - who brought immense joy to her life. Pat fostered deep connections with extended family members and dear friends who were like family to her.
Patricia is now reunited with her husband, Adam "Brother" Johnson, in eternal peace. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Colleen Johnson Ardoin, infant daughter, Mary Ann Johnson; parents, August and Dora Frey Leonards; brothers August Leonards Jr. and Lloyd Leonards, as well as sisters, Alberta Bergeron and Antoinette Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 09, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Nick Ware, Celebrant.
