Eunice A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church.for Mr. Oliver Wayne Morgan, 65, who passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at his residence. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mulhearn Cemetery in Monroe, La.
Wayne was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated and loyal friend. Wayne instilled love and appreciation for family and was committed to education and a strong work ethic. He served others with determination. Wayne served 20 years in the military in the Army and the Air Force also serving in the Berlin Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He was a true and loyal patriot with great love and pride for his country. Wayne always made it known that his truest gift was his wife, Gloria. Together the two persevered and demonstrated love, friendship, dedication, and commitment to all who were blessed to know them. His influence and presence will always be with us.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Gloria Courville Morgan of Monroe; one son, Raymond Thomas Morgan and his wife, Betsy of DeRidder; two daughters, Marice Morgan Guilbeau and her husband, Glenn of Monroe and Dr. Katherine Morgan Wilson and her husband, Dr. Jason of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Casey Guilbeau DeSalvo of San Clemente, Ca., Shelley Guilbeau Amos of Monroe, Ca, Nicholas Charles Guilbeau of Monroe, Victoria Sloan Morgan of Monroe, Chase Morgan Wilson of Monroe, Cole Matthew Wilson of Monroe, and Tyler Martin Daigle of Eunice, two sisters, Ruth Morgan Smith and husband, Donald of Lawrence, In and Hilda Morgan Laing and husband, George of Broad Run, Va and a brother, Kenneth R. Morgan of Lawrence, In.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. Morgan and Ruth Alice Kiplinger Morgan and nine brothers and sisters.
The family request that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 pm until 10:00pm and on Tuesday from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6pm Monday.
Ardoins Funeral Home of Eunice is in charge of arrangements.
