BASILEAn incredible husband, a wonderful father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, O.D. Buck Maybrier will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He died peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

O.D. known as Buck to all who knew him was the owner and operator of the Basile Exxon since 1949 as well as an Independent Oil Producer and Operator He will always be remembered for his kind, generous heart, and his love for his family including his wife of over 60 years, Donnis B. Maybrier of Basile his three sons, Ricky Maybrier and wife, Diane, Robert Maybrier and wife, Phyllis and Johnny Maybrier all of Basile his daughter, Jo Anne Smith and husband, Craig of Basile his brother, Bill Maybrier of Halls Gap, Kentucky his two sisters, Mary Wolfe of Halls Gap, Kentucky and Margaret Freeman of Tallahassee, Florida. His greatest joy in life his eleven grandchildren, Teri Sittig, Richlyn Langley, Jessica, Blake, and Katelyn Maybrier, Nikki M. Todd, Katherine, Ariel, and Alexis Maybrier, Jared and Jennifer Smith his nine great grandchildren, Jacob, Alyvia, John Tyler, Ethan, Riley, Reagan, Eli, McKenzie and Sarah.

Buck now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Harry and Ruth Maybrier and his grandson, Johnny Maybrier.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Monday, July 18th from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, July 19th from 8:00 am until time of services. Father Brian Taylor will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
