BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Nolan Spluke Ardoin announce his passing on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at his residence with his family by his side. He was 54. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Nolan, known as Spluke to all who knew him devoted his life to the care of his loving family. He also devoted much of his time to his Church Parish where he was a CCD Instructor, Eucharistic Minister and lector for the St. Augustine Catholic Church as well as a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Spluke served his community as the Assistant Chief for AcadiaEvangeline Fire Protection District for 10 Years while being a member and First Responder for 27 years.

He leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his wife, Susan Bergeron Ardoin of Basile; his two sons, Christopher Roman and Donovan Jessie Ardoin both of Basile; his daughter, Shellie Renee Ardoin of Basile; his three brothers, Herman Ardoin of Kountz, TX, Phillip Ardoin and wife, Sherron of Humble, TX and Paul Ardoin and wife, Louise of Eunice. Also mourning his loss are his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Phillip and Viva Fontenot Ardoin, Sr. and his nephew, Kevin Andrew Ardoin.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile beginning on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus, Friday, November 13, 2009 from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm with a Church Rosary recited at 7:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services.
