EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Nelan McDaniel announces his passing on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital of Lafayette at the age of 80.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery in Savoy with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

Nelan was the owner and operator of McDaniels Sewing Machine Repair and enjoyed french music, reading his newspaper and having suppers with his friends. He will be deeply missed by his four daughters, Brenda Fontenot of Breaux Bridge, Gwyn Kirby of Maurepas, Cheryl Israel of Eunice and Cindy Brown of Opelousas two sisters, Nell Millang of Kearney, Nebraska and Mary Dean Dow of North Platte, Nebraska eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Leo and Alice Fontenot McDaniel three brothers four sisters and a great grandchild.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, November 19th from 7:00 am until time of services.
