BASILEA wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Nancy Deshotel who will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her died peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Opelousas General Health System. She was 62. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, August 02, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Bishop Douglas Deshotel Celebrant.

Nancy was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed camping, cooking, and fishing as well as spoiling her grandkids and her love for Christmas.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Hedrick Deshotel, Sr. of Basile her two sons, Dennis Deshotel and Hedrick Deshotel, Jr and wife, Rhonda all of Basile her two daughters, Kathy Deshotel Silvas and husband, Ben and Jackie Deshotel Ravey and husband, David all of Basile. She is also mourned by her seven grandchildren, Gregory Miller, Hedrick Paul Deshotel III, Madison Deshotel, Kylee Deshotel, Michael Deshotel, Dustin Silvas and Miranda Silvas.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, William and Marjorie Roberts Brewster and her granddaughter, Leann Ravey.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, August 1st from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, August 2nd from 7:00 am until time of services. Father Brian Taylor will recite a Rosary 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
