BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Morris Susie Young announces his passing on Sunday, November 01, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his love ones. He was 93. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.

Morris known as Susie to all who knew him lived a very full life surrounded by people who loved him and he loved. He was a School bus driver for Acadia Parish School Board for 39 years and between his bus routes he did carpentry work. He was also an accomplished accordion player. He loved to hunt and fish as well as being with his family especially with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He left those who knew him with warm memories to cheer us and fill our hearts.

He leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his wife of 74 years, Alicia Veronie Young of Basile; his two sons, Hubert Young and his wife, Charlotte of Lake Charles, and Harry Young and his wife, Sharon of Basile; his two daughters, Jeanette Young Kittler and her husband, Richard of Bossier City and Judy Young Fontenot and her husband, Joseph Cloyd of Basile. Also mourning his loss are the littlest joys of his life his seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and expecting one as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Ernest and Carma Johnson Young; his brothers, John, Benoit, Nonc Allie Young and his sisters, Attie, Edna, Addie and Agnes.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Monday, November 02, 2009 from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 am Monday evening.
