BASILE~ It is with sadness that the family of Michael D. Lampo, Sr announces his passing on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Pearland, TX. He was 76. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, August 06, 2021, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown, Celebrant.
Michael proudly served his country honorably in the United States Army. He graduated from Avalon High School in 1963 then was drafted into the Army in Fort Polk, LA where he served as a medic, and he met his life-long love, Lilda. They moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1967 where they raised a family. He began working at Bayer in 1972 and transferred to Baytown, TX in 1981. He retired from Bayer after working thirty years. He loved football, basketball and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Rockets. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling. Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and will be sorrowfully missed by all who knew him, especially his children, Michelle Norris and husband, Chuck of LaPorte, TX and Michael D. Lampo, Jr. and wife, Stacie of League City, TX; two brothers, Paul Lampo and wife, Phyllis of Renfrew, PA and Don Lampo and wife, Sue of Scottdale, PA; the joys of his life, his five grandchildren, Christopher, Colton, Taylor, Emma and Abigail; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Lilda Klumpp Lampo; parents, Dominic and Marie Natale Lampo.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Friday, August 6th from 8:00 am with a Rosary will be at 8:30 am with services at 10:00 am.
