EUNICEIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mercedes Fontenot David announces her passing on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at St. Luke Hospital in Houston. She was 65. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Ashford Cemetery with Deacon David Guillory officiating.

Mercedes had a love for fishing, camping, and was a wonderful cook. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Willis Thomas David of Duralde her son, Thomas David of Duralde her three daughters, Theresa David Regan and husband, Greg of Egan, Carolyn David Bihm and husband, Michael of Duralde, and Amy David Fuselier and husband, Todd of Eunice two brothers, Michael Fontenot of Opelousas and Donald Fontenot of Hathaway three sisters, Cassie Fontenot LeBlue of Basile, Priscilla Fontenot Daigle of Tepetate and Ramona Fontenot of Basile. She was the proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Oscar and Elie Manuel Fontenot two brothers, Fred and Ronald Fontenot and a sister, Ella Ruth Fontenot Young.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, April 30th from 10:00 am until time of services on Wednesday. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening.
